Visit Ait Benhaddou

Visit one of the most spectacular world heritage sights in Morocco and the capital of Moroccan filmmaking…


In this tour we drive through the magnificent High Atlas Mountain landscape, crossing through the famous Tizi n’Tichka pass which is the highest road passing (2260 m) in Morocco. 

During the journey we will enjoy the beautiful scenery of local Berber villages, mountains and Kasbahs.

 

A couple of hours drive takes us to the famous and well-preserved Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. This UNESCO world heritage site is one of the most spectacular sights in the Atlas Mountains, famous for being the location for several Hollywood films, including ‘The Gladiator’ and ‘Lawrence of Arabia’.

 

After visiting the Kasbah and spending some time under the palm trees, we drive to Ouarzazate, the city of cinema studios. In the city you will have some free time to discover the film museum or spend your time and have lunch in one of the city’s lovely cafes and restaurants. (Not included in the price.)

  • Distance from Marrakech: 200 km
  • Note: the time of return to Marrakech depends on traffic and other circumstances thus may change. We propose not to plan any urgent programs (e.g. scheduled dinner, bus/train to other cities) for the evening
