What we do?

Learn more about what we do for responsible tourism…

Making tourism more responsible demands all stakeholders – from single travellers to (small, independent or worldwide) tourism enterprises and to governments – to be involved and have deep concern for the multidimensional impacts of tourism and act in adherence of responsible tourism guidelines.

We as a tour operator, “do our part” by operating our business and organising our tours in a more responsible way.

Our most important actions for making tourism more responsible are the following:

In general

  • We pay particular attention to ethical and responsible business conduct in our work and cooperation with our partners.
  • We do care about the environment (during our tours and daily operation), the well-being of our employees and the support of the needy.
  • We use our best efforts that our employees find a healthy balance between their work and private life and to provide fair remuneration for their work.

For the environment

  • We focus on environment protection: whenever possible we use recycled paper and try to avoid excessive paper consumption (e.g. we print on both sides of sheets), we print in draft mode and edit our documents with narrow margin. Our official stamp is made from recycled plastic and we use replaceable stamp pads.
  • We manage our administrative processes electronically (e.g. communication with our tour guides, clients, banking services) and we avoid printing documents.
  • We do our best to reduce our environmental footprint and try to make conscious decisions on waste (e.g. we only purchase what we really need and – if possible – in big quantities, we do not buy drinks in aluminium cans).
  • We offer many tours on foot which is the most environment friendly way of getting acquainted with the Moroccan landscape and lifestyle.

For local culture and society

  • During the trips we put special emphasis on direct interaction with local people and customs. We try to help travelers to “mingle” with locals.
  • We educate our clients on basic norms of local behaviour and religious customs and ask them to respect the local rules (e.g. wear proper clothes, learn how to shake hands, take no photos on locals without their consent).
  • We ask our clients not to give money or small gifts to children in the streets because it encourages them to beg instead of going to school.

For economy and well-being of local people

  • We only use the services of local workforce (tour guide, muleteers, drivers, guides). The only exception is the Hungarian language guided tour that sometimes is lead by a Hungarian tour guide. (However we also have a local tour guide who speaks Hungarian.)
  • We want to help local people by giving them jobs therefore there is always a tour leader – beside the driver – to accompany the group and wherever possible we use the services of other workforce (drivers, muleteers, local guides) in order to employ as many local people as possible.
  • We always try to use the services of small, independent accommodation owned by local people.
  • We always rent vehicles from local and reliable businesses.
  • We ensure the possibility for our travellers to buy gifts and souvenirs from local artisans, however we discourage them to purchase unnecessary items.
